I photographed this image with a Nikon F5 and a 17-35mm 2.8 Nikkor Lens. The original image was shot using Fuji Velvia 50 and drum scanned for the final print.I took this photo from underneath the Brooklyn bridge the year after the tragic 911 incident in NYC this was the first year they put up the now famous twin memorial spot lights to represent those lost that day. Believe it or not this photo was taken from the hood of a police cruiser! Do to the hightened security after 911 all the bridges and ports where manned with extra security , my first few images where without the New York skyline in the background simply because I could not see over the bridge fence but after telling this to the officers there that were watching me capture these images they asked if i would like to stand on the cruiser to get the shot over the fence , this is why I love New York even when we are down we seem to pick each other up and that was certainly the case for the years to follow after 911.
